PRZEDSIĘBIORSTWO USŁUG MORSKICH "ŻEGLUGA GDAŃSKA LTD." SP. Z O.O., a limited-liability company to Polish law with its registered office in Gdańsk, ul. Pończoszników 2, is Poland's largest passenger and cargo carrying company in coastal and inla nd navigation, with a 100% private capital share.

Company holders: Mr.Jerzy Latała - Board President, DirectorGeneral and Adam Skóra, Vice-President of the Board of Directors, Deputy Director-General, both of whom are merchant marine officers with professional experience background gained in western shipping companies, at present ensure a dynamic growth of their own company which, starting from July 1, 1996 has substantially increased its assets and business scope by purchase of the former P.P. Żegluga Gdańska and taking over its white fleet traditi ons dating back to 1946, as the legal successor of P.P. Żegluga Gdańska.

After the years in the doldrums of the Polish passenger cruising market, P.U.M. Żegluga Gdańska Ltd. Sp.z o.o. has now resumed its coastal navigation services starting from Ustka, Darłowo, Łeba, through regular connections in the Gulf of Gdańsk, the F irth of Vistula and internationally, offering a hydrofoil-operated passenger service plying between Elbląg and Kaliningrad.

Right now, Żegluga Gdańska Ltd., apart from holding its prime position in coastal passenger traffic including leisure cruises and various recreation forms at sea, has extended its business to cover freight carriage and repair services to floating craf t.

    Furthermore the Company charters two passenger boats operated under the Polish flag:

    • m/s Smiltyne - to accommodate 179 passenger guests; of the coastal cruising range.

    3. Cargo fleet.

    Composed of:

    • 2 off, motor-propelled barges, BM 500 type; cruising range: inland and port waters
    • 5 off, pusher barges, 1000 tonne deadweight capacity each; cruising range: inland and port waters
    • 2 off, pusher tugs of the Nosorożec type; power installed: 500 bhp; cruising range: port waters only.
